Tropicana Homes

The Rotary Club of Northeast El Paso recognizes Tropicana Homes as its Business of the Year for 2006.

R.L. Bowling Jr. opened the doors to his family business in 1950.  Over 55 years, and over 10,000 homes later, the same standards of quality that guided R.L. Bowling then, are carrying Tropicana into the new millennium.  Currently R.L. Bowling III is president of Tropicana Homes.  Following in his footsteps are his sons Bobby IV, Randy, and Greg.

Located in Northeast El Paso since its inception, Tropicana Homes and the Bowling family have built more homes in Northeast El Paso than any other builder.  In 1998, the Bowling family opened another Northeast company-Patriot Mortgage, which has grown into one of the leading Mortgage providers in El Paso.  Over the last five years, the Bowling family, and Tropicana Homes has also become the leading tax credit apartment developer in El Paso, and one of the top tax credit developers in the state.

The Bowling family and Tropicana homes has partnered with or been involved with numerous charitable and non-profit organizations including the Rotary Club, the Tropicana Homes NorthEaster Parade, Special Olympics, UTEP Athletics, numerous churches, the United Way, and The Fisher House just to name a few.

Tropicana Homes are the first El Paso Builders to be named El Paso Builder of the year three times, as well as, 2003 Texas Builder of the year, and 2004 Texas Industry Leader of the year.  Tropicana Homes has had active representation on all recent local housing committees, and councils, and currently has representation on the board of directors for the El Paso Association of Builders, the Texas Association of Builders, and the National Association of Builders.  In 2004 Bobby Bowling IV served as president of the Texas Association of Builders with over 11,000 members representing more than 350,000 jobs in the state of Texas. Bobby Bowling IV is now serving on the board of directors for the National Association of Builders, and he and Randy Bowling currently serve together on the board of directors for the Texas Association of Builders.  Three members of the Bowling family have also served as president of the El Paso Association of Builders-R.L. Bowling III in 1987, Bobby Bowling IV in 1997, and Randy Bowling in 2005.  Currently Bobby IV, Randy, and Greg Bowling all serve on the Board of directors for the El Paso Association of Builders.

Tropicana’s Commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and pride in customer satisfaction are unparalleled in the industry.

The Rotary Club of Northeast El Paso congratulates and thanks The Bowling Family for their accomplishments and for their longtime dedication to the service of others in Northeast El Paso.
