Part of our Centennial Project, the flag at the corner of Diana and Gateway North in Northeast El Paso flies proudly among the poppies.

The Northeast Rotary Foundation gave the first large contribution to kick start The El Paso Chapter of the National Flag Foundation and for this reason, the Northeast Rotary Club Emblem is on the monument.  The foundation gave money to help erect a 180 foot flag pole which flies a 40x80 foot American Flag 24 hours a day for seven days a week.  The site where the Flag pole is set up, "The Old Glory Memorial" is on approximately 4.6 acres of leased land owned by the El Paso Community College Transmountain Campus on corner of Diana and Gateway North.  Learn more at www.ElPasoFlag.org.

CMN is an international, non-profit organization dedicated to helping children by raising funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals throughout North America . Each year these hospitals treat more than 14 million children suffering from diseases, injuries and birth defects. All donations are kept in the communities where the funds are raised. That means local donations benefit children served by local participating hospitals. CMN El Paso raises funds for our "Always Kids Miracle Hotline," (915) 532-KIDS, which gives 24 hour bilingual access to a physician, or a social worker to all children from birth to age 21 facing an emergency.

The Children’s Miracle Network Grand Prix is held in October at Cohen Stadium. The Northeast El Paso Rotary Club is always well represented! Our car took top honors in 2006!!!

NorthEaster Parade

Organized and operated through the Northeast Civic Leaders Council, Inc. the NorthEaster Parade occurs annually on the Saturday preceding Easter.

The Rotary Club of Northeast El Paso has been a sponsor of this parade for many years. With over 100 entrants, it is the second largest and second longest running parade in El Paso. Up to 10,000 spectators come from El Paso and surrounding communities to see various floats, school bands, community organizations, and marchers travel from Magoffin School on Hercules, north on Diana Drive, to Northgate Shopping Center; located at the juncture of Diana and Dyer Streets. Volunteers from many organizations help on Parade Day to make this truly a community event.

Celebrity Waiters – Hospice of El Paso

Business and community leaders "dress up" like their favorite character or just to get a good laugh to raise money for Hospice El Paso's Patient Assistance Fund. The fund is used to help patients that do not have Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, or the ability to pay to take their end of life journey in the best quality of life possible surrounded by their family and the things that they love. About 20% of Hospice El Paso patients do not have the ability to pay. For information call 915-532-5699.

Celebrity Chef – Rotary Clubs of El Paso
